Founded in October 2007 by twelve undergraduate students, UConn's Mock Trial Society has competed every year in numerous intercollegiate competitions throughout the country. The team is composed of and run by a group of high-achieving, energetic, and passionate undergraduate students with a diverse set of backgrounds and interests. We are recognized by the American Mock Trial Association and argue a civil or criminal case each year.
Our mission is to develop our members' critical thinking skills, public speaking skills, creativity, as well as a knowledge of legal practices and procedures. In addition, we value integrity and friendship amongst team members. We are a nationally ranked team consisting of hardworking students who find joy in the dramatic, difficult competition of undergraduate mock trial. We hope you will join us for the ride! |

Frequently Asked QuestionsMembership
Membership is open to all UConn undergraduate students regardless of level experience or interest in the field of law. Selection for our competition team is highly selective and based on presentation, creativity, and critical thinking skills assessed during try-outs. Try-outs are held every year the September prior to the competition season, which begins with November invitationals. Students are tested on their public speaking skills, knowledge of a case provided before hand, entertaining presentation of information (for the witness role in particular) and, most importantly, for demonstrating a passion to be a part of the team. Each year the number of students invited to join the team varies. Do you still have questions? Looking for more information? |
